The International University College of Turin will devote particular attention to the comparative legal and economic analysis of the legal professions as crucial institutional aspects of current global developments.
The center will develop studies devoted to legal professionalism in the world, to the comparative efficiency of different professional arrangements, and will monitor international legal changes in this domain particularly those promoted by the dominant liberalizations strategies of global governance.
The center might over time mature into a full fledged academic department but even in this early stage will begin the development of a legal and economic library, will host scholars and practitioners interested in its areas of research and will co-sponsor some of the major events of the International University College, in particular the "Transfers of Immovable" project of the Common Core of European Private Law Project.
The Center will be inaugurated at the Collegio Carlo Alberto of Turin on July 5 2007 with a round table, in Italian, devoted to the "Social Value of Legal Certainty".
