IUC's 2009-2010 MSc CLEF Students - Part4 Cigdem Kurt Cigdem is from Turkey, Istanbul. She graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 2008. During her university education, she worked as a volunteer for TEGV (educational volunteers of Turkey). After graduating, she worked for a law firm which was involved with international commercial law and agreements. Cigdem is now attending the IUC, Master of Law and Finance Program. | | Pietro Antonio Messina Pietro Antonio, Italian, speaks fluently English and French. In 2006 he earned at the University of Turin a degree in Public Administration and International Organization Law (Laurea in Diritto delle pubbliche amministrazioni e delle organizzazioni internazionali). Pietro then joined the course for Laurea specialistica in Giurisprudenza (Law) at the same university. Hel also attended several summer courses at Law Schools in France and Great Britain, | | Meng Chen University education: From 2007-2011, Lanzhou Univ. Undergraduate Department. Meng took part in Beijing Model Unied Nations Conference 2009. She got the 2nd prize of Lanzhou Univerity Schlarship and several other prizes of Lanzhou University. | | Laura Spina After having attended classical studies during secondary school, I have been studing law for the last five years in Turin, the city I was born in, except for the first year, during which I attended an Italian-French program in Florence. I appreciate law as a way of solving conflicts, or preventing them, and as an instrument for finding creative solutions towards a better quality of life for citizens of the world. I am particularly interested in ethical finance and microcredit, sustainable development and sustainable future, international cooperation and organization, and in the connections between democracy and press. I had my bachelor in Criminal Procedure with a thesis concerning European Arrest Warrant, while my master degree will be in International Law, analyzing the legacy of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. | | Paul D. Rivera Paul was born in the Philippines, but raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Legal Studies in 2005. After completing his bachelor's degree, he gained further experience in the legal field by working in numerous support roles in corporate law firms. In 2007, Paul was accepted into the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. At U.C. Hastings, Paul was the President of the Pilipino American Law Society from 2008-2009 and member of the Hastings Race and Poverty Law Journal where he is the Community Outreach Editor for the 2009-2010 year. Paul is interested in international development and is currently working as a research associate in the area of legal empowerment of developing countries. | | Leah Chen Price Leah Chen Price is a third-year law student from San Francisco, California at the University of California Hastings College of the Law. Her area of study is international human rights and refugee rights. Leah has a Masters degree in Chinese History and Politics and a Bachelors degree in Chinese Studies, both from the University of California Santa Barbara. | | Denis Cinieri He earned a Bachelor Degree in Juridical Sciences at the University of Turin, Faculty of Law, in October 2005 and two years later in 2007, at the same University, he achieved the Master Degree in Law. Starting from 2008, he is assistant in the Civil Law course at University of Turin, Faculty of Law and an assistant in the Private Law course at the same University, Faculty of Economics. He is registered with the Turin Bar as Legal trainee and he also admitted to practice law before the lower Courts. He has been working for an International Law Firm in Turin. He has gained experience in the area of Civil and Commercial law of public and private companies, with special focus on corporate governance issues, including mergers and acquisitions. | | Tomàs Savage I was born in 1987 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am a law student at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella and I will be making an exchange program at IUC from January to July 2010. My favorite topics of law are international law, contract law and corporate law. | |
