Contact Fabian Muniesa

Fabian Muniesa was trained as a sociologist at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain). In 1999 he joined France Telecom R&D's social science laboratory where he worked on a PhD on the computerization of financial markets, completed in 2003 at the Ecole des Mines de Paris. He then joined the London School of Economics for a one year post-doctorate. He is currently a researcher at the at the Centre de Sociologie de l'Innovation (CSI), within the Ecole des Mines de Paris.
Muniesa is a recognized contributor to the social studies of finance and has worked extensively on topics such as electronic trading in financial markets. His teaching activities include a course on the sociology of markets for the engineering program at the Ecole des Mines de Paris. His current areas of interest and research projects include: the sociology of finance, economic experiments, the anthropology of calculation, experimental methods in social science, and the sociology of architecture.
