Small group course: Legal Research and Writing

Jennifer Hilton grew up in Berkeley, California and received her B.S. with high honors from UC Berkeley (Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management) in Conservation and Resources Studies and her Juris Doctor from UC Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, California, with a concentration in International and Comparative Law.  Her main areas of research and experience are in Environmental Law and Policy, Globalization, Rural Studies and Human Rights.  

Her professional work experience is quite varied ranging from U.S. domestic work in Environmental Justice and Criminal Defense to international experience working in the Law Development Office of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization and in Central America.  

Jennifer is the IUC Student Dean and will also teach Legal Writing and Research (LW&R).  LW&R is broadly designed to teach students how to conduct legal research, use proper citations, and write effectively in a legal context.
