Francesco Pezone

Francesco Pezone is an IUC Faculty member and teaching Start Up and Merger Clinic and is Of Counsel of Musy Bianco e Associati law firm in Turin where he is co-chair of the commercial law and corporate practice department.

Francesco Pezone graduated at LUISS Guido Carli Law School in 1999, summa cum laude.  In 2005 he obtained his Ph.D. in Economics and Regulation of International financial Intermediaries and Markets from La Sapienza University.  In 2008 he was awarded his LL.M. Master degree from Columbia University Law School, where he received the Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar academic recognition. 

In 2002 he was admitted to practice law in Italy. He also passed the New York State Bar Exam in 2008. From 2002 to 2007 he was senior associate at Grande Stevens law firm in Turin, where he gave his contribution to various and complex corporate deals and transactions.  From 2008 to 2009 he was foreign associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York where he dealt with private equity funds, mergers and acquisitions, energy law, incentive and financing systems.

His academic and professional practice is mainly focused on matters such as corporate law, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions; capital markets and securities regulation; corporate finance and financial reorganizations; start-up projects and venture capital; and energy law and regulation. Throughout both his academic and professional career, Mr. Pezone has been involved in some of the most interesting topics and transactions connected with corporate law and securities regulation, both from an Italian and International perspective.  Such first hand experience has given him an unusual combination of skills and his continued determination gleans persistent interest and devotion to the expeditious evolution of the laws concerning such matters throughout U.S. and Europe.
